Night Watchmen Stories: Zombie Hospital sets you up as the night security guard at a hospital that is, somehow, no longer a normal hospital. Lights flicker. Doors that should be locked aren't. The patients aren't all asleep.
And by hour two, you'll wish your job description had included the word 'zombie' somewhere.
The level design respects what a hospital actually looks like - waiting rooms, corridors with patient room doors on both sides, an emergency wing, an underground morgue. The familiarity makes the horror land harder.
You know what hospital corridors are supposed to feel like, which makes the violations of that feeling stick.
Combat exists but ammo is genuinely scarce. The game encourages stealth, route planning, and using the security camera system to track threats before walking into them.
Players who treat it as an action game burn through resources fast; players who treat it as a survival horror game last much longer.
Each major hospital wing builds toward an encounter with a more dangerous infected - usually a former patient or staff member who got specifically wrong.
These encounters are the game's combat showcases; the rest of the time you're managing tension and avoiding zombies that would beat you in a fair fight.
The game runs in any modern browser via HTML5 and WebGL with no install required. It runs on Chromebooks, school PCs, library computers, and modern phones or tablets. Headphones are essential to the atmosphere - the audio design carries much of the dread.
Desktop is most immersive; mobile loses some of the impact on small screens.
Move with WASD, look around with the mouse, click to interact or shoot. Press F to interact with doors, drawers, and items. Use Q or E to access the security camera system from designated terminals. Press R to reload your weapon.
On mobile, on-screen joysticks handle movement and look, with action buttons. Complete each floor's objectives while managing ammo and avoiding unnecessary combat.
Use the Cameras Constantly - The security camera system shows zombie positions before you walk into them; treating cameras as your scout saves runs.
Reload Behind Cover - Reload animations leave you vulnerable; never reload in the middle of a corridor where a zombie could close on you.
Learn the Floor Layouts - Each hospital wing has multiple paths between objectives; knowing alternate routes lets you avoid blocked or contaminated areas. Save Heavy Weapons for Bosses - The boss encounters are where firepower matters; using shotguns on basic shamblers wastes resources.
Don't Rush Objectives - The game rewards careful exploration; sprinting through floors causes you to miss healing items, ammo, and safe rooms.
