Road of Fury Desert Strike is a 2D side-scrolling vehicular combat game where you take control of an armed car on a mission for the Corp.
Played in your browser, this arcade shooter challenges you to drive through a post-apocalyptic desert, destroying the enemy Horsemen gang with mouse-controlled aiming and shooting. Collect gears from fallen foes to upgrade your vehicle between runs, enhancing your firepower and survivability.
Progression in Road of Fury Desert Strike centers on the garage. After each attempt, you can spend the gears you've collected from destroyed enemies. These gears are the currency for a wide range of upgrades.
You can improve your car's core stats, such as its armor for better defense. You can also upgrade your main gun's damage, fire rate, and cooling system. Don't forget the side guns, which fire automatically and can be a huge help.
You can even purchase entirely new support vehicles, like a 'Gunner' car for extra firepower or a 'Fixer' van that repairs your health on the move.
Your primary weapon is a powerful, roof-mounted machine gun that you aim with your mouse. It has unlimited ammunition, but its major drawback is an overheating mechanic. If you fire continuously, the gun will jam, leaving you defenseless for a few crucial seconds.
To succeed, you need to fire in controlled bursts.
Alongside your main gun, your car is equipped with side-mounted weapons that fire automatically at any enemy within range. While less powerful, they provide consistent damage and are great for taking out weaker opponents while you focus your main gun on bigger threats.
Upgrading these weapons is key to handling overwhelming numbers of enemies.
The Horsemen are the antagonistic gang that rules the desert wasteland. They are your primary obstacle and come in various forms.
You'll face fast-moving motorcycles that try to swarm you, rugged buggies with mounted guns, and heavily armored trucks that can take a lot of punishment.
Their goal is to stop you from completing your mission for the Corp. As you progress further down the road, the Horsemen's attacks become more coordinated and intense.
The ultimate goal is to fight your way through their ranks and defeat their leader, the formidable Duke Mo.
You can play Road of Fury Desert Strike completely free directly in your web browser. There's no need for any downloads or installations.
Since it runs on HTML5, it's easily accessible on most devices and networks, including those at school or work, allowing you to jump straight into the action.
Your objective in Road of Fury Desert Strike is to drive as far as possible through the hostile desert, destroying enemy vehicles from the Horsemen gang. Survive waves of attacks, collect gears, and upgrade your car to eventually confront the gang's boss, Duke Mo.
The game uses simple mouse controls. Your car drives forward automatically. Move your mouse to aim the main turret on your car. Use the left click to fire your main weapon. Your side guns will fire automatically at any nearby targets.
After you are defeated, you'll return to the garage. Use the gears you collected from destroyed enemies to purchase upgrades. You can improve your armor, main gun, and side guns, or even buy support vehicles like an extra gunner or a repair van.
Each upgrade makes your next run easier.
Manage Your Heat - Your main gun will overheat and temporarily jam if you fire it for too long. Use short, controlled bursts to keep it cool and ready for action. Prioritize Threats - Focus your fire on the most dangerous enemies first.
Rocket-launching trucks or cars that get too close should be your top priority over weaker, distant foes. Upgrade Offense First - In the early game, putting your gears into the main gun's damage and cooling system is a great strategy.
Destroying enemies faster means you take less damage and earn more gears per run. Protect Your Support - The Gunner and Fixer support vehicles are powerful but can be destroyed. Try to position your car to shield them from heavy fire when possible.
Collect Every Gear - Drive over the gears dropped by defeated enemies to collect them. Missing them means you'll have less currency for crucial upgrades in the garage.
