RoyalDice Journey is a casual strategy board game where you challenge AI opponents in a castle setting. This browser-based game combines the luck of the dice with tactical decision-making, similar to classic games like Yahtzee.
Using your mouse, you'll roll five dice to create high-scoring combinations and outwit your rivals to become royalty.
The goal in RoyalDice Journey is to score more points than your opponent by filling out a scorecard. Each turn, you get up to three rolls of five dice.
After the first and second rolls, you can choose to hold any number of dice and re-roll the rest.
You must fill one of the 13 scoring categories each turn, such as Three-of-a-Kind, Full House, or a Large Straight. The highest-scoring combination is the "RoyalDice"-five dice of the same number-which is worth a massive 50 points.
Strategy comes from knowing when to chase a high score and when to play it safe.
Your adventure takes you through a series of matches against different characters in the Royal Castle. Each opponent presents a new challenge on your path to the throne.
Winning a match allows you to progress to the next challenger, testing your dice-rolling skills against increasingly cunning AI. You'll need both lucky rolls and smart choices to complete your journey and claim the crown.
You can play RoyalDice Journey for free directly in your web browser. There's no need for any downloads or installations.
Because it's a lightweight HTML5 game, it runs on most school or work networks, allowing you to enjoy a quick match whenever you have a break.
The objective of RoyalDice Journey is to defeat each opponent in the castle by achieving a higher score in a game of dice. You'll need to fill out your scorecard more effectively than your rival to win.
The game is controlled entirely with your mouse. Use a left click to roll the dice at the start of your turn. After a roll, click on the individual dice you wish to keep. Click the roll button again to re-roll the remaining dice.
Each turn consists of up to three rolls. After you finish rolling, you must use a left click to select an empty category on your scorecard to record your points for that turn.
The game concludes once both you and your opponent have filled all 13 categories. The player with the highest total score is the winner.
Aim for the Bonus - Focus on scoring at least 3 points for each category in the upper section (Aces to Sixes). Reaching a total of 63 points here grants you a crucial 35-point bonus.
Chase the RoyalDice - If your first roll gives you three or four of the same number, it's often worth using your next two rolls to try for the 50-point RoyalDice. Know When to Quit - Don't get greedy.
If you roll a Full House or Large Straight on your second roll, it's usually better to take the guaranteed points than to risk it for a slim chance at something better.
Sacrifice a Low Score - If you have a terrible set of rolls, use it to fill a low-value category you weren't likely to score well in anyway, like 'Aces'. This saves your high-potential categories for better rolls.
Watch Your Opponent - Keep an eye on which categories your opponent has already filled. This can help you decide whether to play aggressively or defensively, especially near the end of the game.
